My friend wanted me to write a poem, so I did.

I had the urge to write this, about being 'free.'

Flying Free

I sit in the cold, cold grass.

Looking up at the cloudy sky.

Wishing for a miricle,

then you catch my eye.

single bird,

up there all alone.

soaring through the sky,

on your own.

If only I could fly,

awe takes hold of my glee.

What if I was there,

Flying free?

For some reason I feel my eyes water,

a misty haze covers my sight.

Then I notice,

the bright white light.

blink and notice,

when my eyes open.

I see the clouds under my feet,

and notice I got what I was hoping.

Now i'm the one,

the one that others see.

Up in the sky,

Flying free.
