This man was a stranger,

Just less than a week ago.

A man I admired,

But did not actually know.

He spoke with such an air,

So intelligent and learned,

He was witty and sharp,

To meet him, oh, I yearned.

He made me laugh out loud,

At his random little jokes,

They weren’t dirty or bad,

But playful, little provokes.

He presented himself,

With such a strong air of pride

That made me wonder why,

Men didn’t follow astride.

Then one day I gave in,

And a chat I did commence,

And it was from that moment,

That our friendship did intense.

I have a brand new friend,

Of whom I’m awfully proud.

He’s sweet, gentle and kind,

And not a part of the crowd.

Whenever I need his help,

He always stands by me,

He’s an amazing guy,

I respect him totally.

This poem’s for Dufty,

A glorious, darling friend,

I cherish him dearly -

In my heart, until the end.
