A poem I wrote for my english class. I had to analyse a poem and I used Hank's "Just An Old Man" because I liked it so much. I then had to write one in the same sort of format and this is what I wrote.

Hank, contact me if you would like me to take this off the site.

Just a small bird, sitting in his cage,
Lightly sleeping,
Not an ounce of rage.

Ruffling feathers, head laying at rest,
Chirping softly,
Not feeling his best.

Owner at school, not knowing his ache,
Laughing brightly,
Her heart soon to break.

Skipping on home, his owner returns,
Void of knowledge,
A child soon to learn.

Checking on him, she begins to cry,
Heart wrenching tears,
Streaming from her eye.

Youthful body, laying without sound,
Soul in heaven,
His body underground.
