This poem is a metaphor about my current emotional state. I am having an incredibly horrible week, but yet I've fallen deeply in love over this past week as well.

A lot has happened since that night spent beneath the sky.

The good, the bad and the unbelievable,
All of it flowing one after another,
Marching like a line of determined ants,
Searching for the bare essentials.

The sun, the rain, the moon,
Blending into one,
Running together like ink on paper,
Until the end cannot be told from the beginning,
And the beginning from the end.

Time almost seeming to stop,
But yet racing like a speeding bullet,
Blurring everything that happens around us,
Nothing else mattering,
But the time spent within each others arms.

Colours, sounds, shapes and movement,
Blending, mixing, combining into one memory,
One love, one life, one brief moment,
One small deceptive moment,
Where everything feels good, feels right.

The world is still spinning around me,
My surroundings still blurred,
But yet you are not here,
But there,
Where I am not.

You are without me,
And I am without you,
Fate has flexed its cruel strength,
And torn happiness once again from my grip.

The feel of your lover’s touch,
The sound of your gentle whispers in my ear,
The taste of your lips on mine,
Vanished.
