I am running and approach my destination

a large wooden box

like the hole in my heart

that needs you here. right. now.

through anger

and tears swelling in my eyes I dive at the box

my entire body goes limp as the sharp edges cause my skin to tingle and scream in agony

and as I lay on top of that box with blood staining the sane

for the first time in my life,

I don't care what my hair looks like,

I don't care if my mascara runs,

I don't care who's watching me

all I care about

is having you in my arms

an impossible dream from so far away.

and with my head tucked into my arm

I allow myself to cry

to replenish myself with tears.

I would never admit to it

but I wanted to hurt myself

to feel that pain

you were gone

and I was hoping you would come back

before I did this

to tell me not to get hurt

to save me from everything

and I lay here

the thought of you does not numb the pain

a sting that is magnified by heartache

I am trapped here alone in this wasteland of broken hearts

without you.

I cry.

not only because I am in so much pain.

but because I miss you more than anything.
