There are never words to explain something as great as death, and death has greatly affected my little town, Beaumont, not once, not twice, but four times within a single weekend.

May the four of them rest in peace. There isn't a doubt in my mind that they'll never be forgotten.

My most heartfelt condolences go out to the families and to the friends of the four individuals.

The twenty-sixth of November
will always be remembered,
as smiles gave way to tears;
an untimely tragedy meeting people's fears

Such a sad weekend, such long, sorrowed days;
everyone walking as though in a haze.
A wake-up call, a reminder to love;
to cherish ones held dear before they, too, rise above

Everyone's hurting, feeling the pain;
feeling as though there's nothing to gain.
lost in the day, lost in the night
unable to sleep when nothing feels right.

Lives aren't borrowed, but stolen,
so we learned with four lives taken
tears pouring out, long after eyes run dry
It's the first time I've seen a whole community cry

It's sad, so sad, to lose those so young
and in the air, our emotions are hung
for all to see as we gather as one
to light candles for those whose lives are done

Why does death hold the hands
of those too young to understand
what life is, could be, could've been.
Not borrowed, but taken. Stolen.

Thought after thought, tear after tear
So far away, though, nearly yesterday, they were here

But let us not remember them as a tragedy
but as those that brought a smile.
Bright memories of each of them,
will surely surface all the while

It's sad, I know, because I cried too,
But I didn't know them, didn't know them at all
but hearing about them, although just a little too late,
Makes me think they'd like for us to stand tall

Beaumont, stand tall,
Wear a smile in their memory
Without a doubt they won't be forgotten
They'll be remembered, surely.

In memory of Brad Arsenault, Kole Novak, Thaddeus Lake and Chantal Berube.

Your deaths have greatly impacted the entire community, and it's such a shame that you're no longer here. I didn't know you, but hearing about you makes me wish I did, because I have no doubt in my mind that you were all wonderful people. My coldolences and thoughts go out to the families and friends that are going through what no one should ever have to.

Stay gold.
