Falling in Love (2)
Poem by: Frank Tavares
Falling in Love (2), by Frank Tavares
It happened before I realized it did.
I floated up, said hello.
We touched… then let go.
Eyes interlocked. It felt natural.
The hit only came later.
Like a steam train.
And, somehow, I survived the punch.
And, after a while, decided to go write this poem.
Because I’m still stuck on the front of a steam train,
moving at a million miles an hour, with a heart that’s on fire.
And I don’t know where I’m going,
but I’m pretty sure I want to go there.
