The Gift
Oh lady, listen to this ode of mine, my words weighs naught, I know.
Canyouhear the soundsof my dreams? You're always there, you know?
I searched the windsthat touched you,the air you breathed I hold.
You are thePrincess of my castle ... a daughter of Eve.
I can close my eyes and see you. I cover my ears and hear you.
Thesundrew a picture of youon my skin, I still feel the warmth.
Knowing more of you with every passing day inspiresanother heartbeat, another breath.
Your eyes told meaboutthe sweetness of your smile and I lost myself there.
I found in you the meaning of love and my search has ended, and begun ...
Your life in mine is a gift that has meaning only to me, and it's you.
If I could return the gift and make a promise, this would be it:
I give you what I hold most dear, I can give nothing more.
I give you yourself in me.
For if you ever lost me, you would still have you...
