My Mum

I look back on these years
To see how far I've come and grown,
I take a trip down memory lane,
And what I see has shown ...

That every step I've taken,
You have been there by my side ...
From infancy to adulthood,
We've stood the test of time.

Your constant care and loving,
And your warm inviting heart,
Has always been a treasure that
I knew would never depart.

If I could be "just half" the person
You have been to me ...
Then you have taught me well dear mum,
For in my heart I see ...

A woman whose most gentle soul,
Embraces me each day ...
A woman whom I dearly love,
Much more than words can say.

You have always been there when I cried,

to soothe my hurts and heal my pains.
You taught me how to read and love,
Directing me in right from wrong.

You were there to kiss me sweet goodnights,
knowing always how to make things right.
You helped me through my darkest days,
No questions asked, you wiped my tears.

I can recall the hell I put you through,
From your teachings I rebelled.
My behaviour beyond what you deserved
But unfaltering your love remained.

As I’ve grown and the years have passed
Ive tried to amend  those days.
To live my life, to make you proud
To prove all that stress worthwhile.

Im truly honoured in life, to call you my Mum,

To tell all about the Angel you are.
You will always come first in my heart,
Where-ever in life we both roam.

I look up to you, Mum, And I Love you so much

More than mere words can express.
I want and need you to always remember,
You’re not just my Mum but Forever My Best Friend.
