I was empty.
Now I know how it feels- you beside me.

With you gone I am desolate.

I lay.
This spot taken by us just mere hours prior.

I thought I knew sadness.
But true sadness is your absence.

These many moments of melancholy are  out-shined by the few moments I spend with you.

I was fearless.
Inside me grows a new fear.
Day by day this fear cultivates;

Loss.

I do not generalise the word.
For I have lost many for this.
Many more than you may realise.
Though I am left unscathed.
