Being Alone
written in 1986 by M.M.J.
One day long ago I took time out
To see where my life was going
I saw nothing there to sing about
There was nothing worth knowing.
My life has always been rather dull
But I know in my heart I can fix that
Because you see my life looks full
Ever since you and I had our chat.
How good it can be to talk to another
Because it can help one can't you see
But, Oh how love can really smother
When all one really wants is to be free.
Being free doesn't mean you’ve yearned
To once more to be carefree and single
Because you see all that I have learned
Being free means that you can intermingle.
So I want you to promise that from now on
( It may be strange but please believe me )
When you see that I am sitting all alone
It will be because that is what I want to be.
