As I reread this one I thought it was a bit prophetic. Two years later I had left an unhappy marriage and started out on a great new adventure of finding my self.

The Grassy Hill By Margaret M. Leahy_Brown  1989

I sat upon the grassy hill and looked around
All was so still and quiet upon the mound
I felt so far away from all I knew
My many problems now seemed so few.

At peace with the world, that's how I felt
My unsurmountable problems began to melt
I began to see things in a different light
I had the sudden feeling all would be right

I sat upon the grassy hill and looked around
I watched a leaf float gently to the ground
As I watched my troubles seemingly drifted away
The world was bright... my future no longer grey.

I made a promise to myself right there and then
To take time out ---Relax, enjoy life and when--
Troubles mounted,  and all seemed wrong.
I can face my problems and I can be strong.

I sat upon the grassy hill and looked around
Hundreds of bright flowers grew upon the ground
The sun was shining, birds singing, gentle breezes blowing
I turned and walked away, the peace within me slowly growing.
