—Can you light my cigarette? — She says passing me her fag.

I light it and give it back to her while she smiles at me. I smile back and we stay in silence for a while, just staring at each other.

—This is a rare moment. — She says at last.

—What do you mean? — I ask while I roll my own cigarette.

—A moment where two people can be in silence and it's not awkward.

—You're right. — I say a little bit distracted by the smoke coming from my cigarette. — Quite rare...

The silence takes over again. The only sound in the room comes from our breathing. I can't look anywhere else but her and it seems that she feels the same. The silence could have lasted for days, months, years... It would be feeling like a second to me. Once again, she's the first to talk.

—I like this.

—People who can look me in the eyes and don't look away after a while.

I look away unintentionally

—Oh, you just not so cool anymore. — She says.

—Sorry , I didn't mean that.

—I know. — She says and she smiles. Oh boys, if you could only see that smile... My house never felt so small before that smile.

The city sounds interrupted the new silence. Drunk people laughing and screaming. But it didn't matter. Her hand resting upon mine, both cold and wet due to the beers we were holding, makes it all worthwhile. The bizarre sounds of Sao Paulo turn into music when I'm with her.

We get closer and she kisses me. Needless to say, I kiss her back with my heart bursting with joy. We split and I'm smiling like an idiot. She's just smiling.

—I'm sorry. — She says. — I didn't mean that.

—I know. — I say and kiss her again. This time, for the rest of the night.
