And so I woke up

Sleep drunk and bleary eyed

Wishing it had been a lie

Hoping beyond hoping

That he lingered somewhere out there

Fuck that, that he was just down the stairs

Sitting in that same arm chair

Waiting to be taken out

Or talked to

Or listened to

Because every day

Every day I wait

Is just one more day

One more creeping step

I do not want to wait for the ever divine ending

The ever ambiguous lie

I want the Kingdom of Heaven

Right here and now

On my doorstep

Because what is the use in tomorrow

If we cannot love today
