Creationism Vs Evolution

I watched a program about the fight about Creationism and Evolution in public schools recently and it got me thinking.  Who is right?

Creationism as explained by Wikipedia:

“Creationism is the religious belief that humanity, life, the Earth, and the universe were created in their original form by a deity (often the Abrahamic God of Judaism, Christianity and Islam) or deities, whose existence is presupposed.[1] In relation to the creation-evolution controversy the term creationism (or strict creationism) is commonly used to refer to religiously-motivated rejection of evolution.”

Evolution:

“In biology, evolution is the process of change in the inheritedtraits of a population of organisms from one generation to the next. Genes that are passed on to an organism's offspring produce the inherited traits that are the basis of evolution. Mutations in genes can produce new or altered traits in individuals, resulting in the appearance of heritable differences between organisms. New traits may also arise from the transfer of genes between populations, as in migration, or between species, in horizontal gene transfer. In species that reproduce sexually, new combinations of genes are produced by genetic recombination, which can increase the variation in traits between organisms. Evolution occurs when these heritable differences become more common or rare in a population.”

Honestly, I’m all for science and all that crap but do you really believe that your ancestors were apes or baboons or whatever they tell us?  I think it’s an insult.  Yes I know, the monkeys are smart, but why don’t those that still walk among us (those that haven’t turned into humans yet), develop and start talking?  Oh yes, it takes millions and billions of years…

I’m no scientist and I don’t really care about the “evidence” they have.  It’s interesting but I will never in my whole life believe it.

And on to my next favorite subject – The Big Bang Theory…

Once upon a time there was a lonely primeval atom that exploded into life because the universe was too hot.  An empty universe.  Without time and space… Now why would there be one single atom?  Where did the heat come from?

How can you expect to believe that a human being with all its emotions and complex personality can come out of nothing?? A Big Bang? And voila, out popped a human. Or an ape…

I have the utmost respect for everyone who believes in what they believe.  I’m not insulting anyone and if I am, I apologize.

The point I’m trying to make is this:  Do you believe that something can come out of nothing?

When you look at a new born baby, how can you not see that a human comes from a loving source?

Can nothing create:

Love

Plants

Water

Light & Darkness

A body that heals itself

Instinct

Life

Okay, there is scientific evidence that could back evolution but it hasn’t been proved.  I still have my two arms and ten toes just like my great, great, great, great, great, great grandmother.  Oh yes, evolution takes millions and billions of years but you and I won’t live that long.  So why the bickering?

And yes, as far as I know, these scientists haven’t found substantial evidence that God does exist.  You cannot take the Hubble and look into space and see God or Heaven.  Fair enough.  But that’s where Faith comes in.  I’m not going to turn this article into a fight about religion so don’t even go there.

But when you look into space at night and see the stars in all it’s beauty, don’t you wonder how “nothing” could create this?  My personal opinion is Nature is all the evidence you need to realize God does exist and He created it all.  Just look at it.  Humans cannot create beauty like that.  Neither can “nothing.”

And yes, I do realize the guy who came up with the Big Bang THEORY was a Roman Catholic Priest.  But we are all human, aren’t we?

The best of all is what the Big Bang predicts for the Earth:

A Big Crunch

A Big Freeze

A Big Rip

Original…

Like I said, I’m not here to insult anyone.  Each to his own and whatever floats your boat.  I don’t want to MAKE anyone believe in God.  It’s your own decision. I just want to know, why would you believe in Evolution and the Big Bang?

I want to hear what you believe in and ONE reason why.  I don’t want this to turn into a big fight on Booksie.

Don’t believe in something for the sake of believing.  Research and inquire.  Not just on the Net or in books.  In your heart.
