Who knows!

I see a bright light as i stand alone in the dark
I try drawing it closer but it keeps us apart
I cling onto a hope that it might change its mind
A hope that is dying, a hope that seems blind
The light rips away and leaves me standing alone
I watch it grow distant leaving me once more on my own
Have i lost all hope of it ever returning
Have i lost all hope of this light once again burning
I don't seem to control it now i've seen what its like
The light at first that burnt brightly fades into the night
My eyes cannot trace it, left lost in the dark
Once again looking for a new place to start
Do i forget it? Let it out of my grip?
Now that i've seen what it holds i want to pursue
That feeling of warmth, It gave me inside
The hole that it filled once more fills my mind
How do i know if its left me for good
Or just left for a while, to see if it misunderstood
Is it trying to force me to display all i am
Or does it simply not realize all that it has?
I would give it my all, if it but gave me a chance
If it would come back and once more quell this dark
This dark i have lived with, the whole of my life
IT gave me a taste of how to live in the light
Was i misguided? Was i a fool? Was i so wrong to offer it all?
If i had forced it would the light have simply gone out?
Would it resent it and have only doubt
Still i could try, to pull back this one ray of hope
Or should i stop chasing, and in the dark once again grope?
Its left me so weak, without out a clue what to do
I had just reached the peak, when the whole thing fell through
