At night I am soft, vulnerable. At night i am my true self, small, scared. At night i take off the carefully layered armor of the day. My night time self is realistic, cynical. But with the morning comes the facade, thicker than makeup or baggy sweaters. My daytime self is fanciful, idealistic. The glass is always overflowing and I am invincible. These two selfs want essentially the same thing, the means of achievement are just widely different, an ocean of difference in fact. The evening brings a curious mingling of these two selfs, patiently reserving the hope of the daytime while validating the truth of the night. This melding of selves is a peceful transistion, going almost unnoticed.
