we sat on your roof engulfed in darkness

except for bright red cigarettes

burning holes in the silence

So we spoke when we could and we said what we wanted

well...

maybe just you.

I had to watch the fireflies dance in halos round your hair

and they came so close to your lips and your face

jelousy takes over me now.

each step down to the fence

felt the gravel under your feet

and crush

into the soil
