You've told me so many times
You might not be here next year
It never occured to me
That this is reason to fear

For I assumed you wouldn't go through with it
But now I see you might
I don't want to be wishing I could go back
Don't want the regrets and strife

When that day comes around
That we must say goodbye
If you leave ignorant
I'd feel like I could die

Year after year
I'd regret not telling you
Year after year
Oh how I'd with that you knew

Three years from now
I'd sit tempted by the phone
Prom coming near
Wishing I wasn't alone

And then comes graduation
To my friends I'd say goodbye
Reminded of your leaving
The tears stinging at my eyes

Come time for class reunion
You'd be missing still
Me wondering what would happen
If I'd had the will

To tell you how I feel
Back in 2008
Would life remain unchanged
Or would it change our fates?

To live life free of wonder
I must tell you somehow
I've only got this one chance
And time to act is now
