A writing I did in high school that had some personal experience in it.

There once was a boy and girl that met each other in high school. No special way they did it, they just met and grew to become friends fast. The girl had a boyfriend where everything looked ok on the surface, but she wanted to get out of it. She wanted to be with the other boy. Now the boy when they first met was not a big dater, he was and forever picky with his girls. But he did care for her much. Then halfway through senior year, the boy brought himself into his personal hell. Drinking, pills and weed were his only friends to him. But he was sadly blind to reality. He was blind to his friends and family and also co-workers that supported him when he needed it. The girl herself did her best to be there for him the best she could, but again the boy was blind. His senior year came another girl into his life that took him into a deep relationship. But above the surface things were fine, but he wanted out. He wanted to be with the other girl that wanted him. So he broke it off his relationship, but that made his personal hell even worse. It felt the walls of fire surrounding him were getting hotter and higher. The girl that supported and cared for him became nothing to him once he graduated high school, he sadly forgot her. He threw something away that could have been special. Yet a year later the boy and girl find themselves catching up on life and becoming friends once again. The boy told her life was great and his drinking had subsided, but that was a lie. His drinking had gotten to its bitter worse. Party every weekend and his heart barred, and locked away and no girl ever can seem to break the chains to his heart. But the girl was doing great honestly and found someone great that she makes happy each day….that both make each other happy each day. The boy grew jealous and his past floods his mind and he focuses on her. What he could have had with her, where he saw she cared for him but he was stubborn and did not give a damn then. It hurt her, but again he was a jerk then, only out for himself. But now, where he is doing better with a better outlook on life, he has no one special to enjoy his life with. But the boy and girl stayed friends, talking each day and enjoying each other like they once did.
But then everything turned for the worse one night. The boy drinking and thinking of the girl got drunk and his hell once again surrounded him. He got into his car and just drove not caring where he went or how fast he was going. Later that night the girl just getting off work and right when she stepped into her house she gets a call. The call was an officer and he tells her that the boy was in a car accident and he did not make it. But there was a letter in his glove-compartment for her. In tears an hour later she receives the letter. She waits till she is in her bedroom to open it. With shaking hands and red eyes and tear-stained face she opens the letter. It simply said how the boy always wanted to be with her and he just never had the words to tell her. Also the night before he had a dream where he was in an all white room with just a table and 2 chairs across from each other. No windows, but a door that would not open from the inside. Then the boy sat at the table and soon people from his past would come through the door and sat on the other side of the table across from him. People included his father, old friends, teachers and so many others. They each told them how disgusted they were with him and how he had turned out. But the very last person was hard to put into view when they first came in, but the boy soon saw it was the girl. She calmly sat across from the boy and gently took his hand and told him how much she cared for him and forever would. Each person that came to him in the dream once they were done talking to him they would just turn to ash and blow away like paper. But the girl slowly got up and opened the door which brought in a blinding ray of light and she then simply was gone. The ink began to run on the paper as the girl’s tears hit the paper. She put the letter back into the envelope and put it in her top dresser drawer where she kept it for the rest of her life. At the funeral she cried but stayed strong because she knew that’s what the boy would have wanted. That night she dreamed oddly of the very same room that was described by the boy from his letter. She sat at the table and right when she did the door opened. It was the boy the same way he was the last day she saw him. He sat across from her and he took her hands into his and without a word he kissed her softly and said, “Thanks for always caring for me”. After that he went to the door and walked through it and she then woke up in tears. She then after wiping away her tears slowly drifted back to sleep knowing she forever had the boy in her heart and always guiding her through life.
