A short poem about fate and the control it can exert over us

I wish I could be rid of her the mistress of my fate, The one who brings me happiness the misery and hate, No longer do I wish to see her shadow in the door, To no longer feel her influence guide me to the fore, No longer do I wish to feel her hand caress my face, To force me to live and die at her selfish slumber pace, To only guide myself along the road at which I stand, To travel from the darkness where new life will grasp my hand
