Disoriented shapes crush time and space

senses disturbed by uneven surfaces
sounds silenced by screams
huge blocks crudely shock and shake
our sense of self.

Four million
Five million
Number numbness
One
person
deliberately
systematically
ruthlessly

  i

every second
of every hour
of every day

through a

year
and

half.

over

and

over

and

over
again.

every second.

Massacring spirit
slaughtering hope
extinguishing trust.

an efficient blood lust,
organized and executed
and planned
by thousands
and thousands
of loyal citizens,

of active participants,
of engineers, train drivers,
of nurses, architects, brick layers,
of clerks, cooks, drivers
and stokers.

Operating openly in efficient
coordinated action
to cleanse the globe
of imperfect things
in a perfect,
sensible world.
