Ripples of ochre colour
etched by ancient hands
cascade into the sky.

Eons ago
(A time too hard
to imagine),
a river flowed
here. Right here.

Above me.

Swirling coloured mud
into an
expansive sea.

Each
swirling
layer
stamping its mark.

(this colour) and
(this turbulence)
and
at this
(particular) time,
I flowed here. Right here.

Layer
on
layer
on
layer .....

Gazing upwards,

marching
forward
in
time.

'Til the blue line
of the sky
cuts a
sharp end
to
my gaze..

Light streaming down
from
another eon.

Staring into space,

staring
backwards
in
time.

Across time's arrow.
