The issues of right, wrong, and legalities have been argued as well as presented not only in courtrooms but the public square as well. The ramifications behind an issue could be determined by the over oratorio arguments of such issues. People could be swayed or moved based on how the argument was presented. As social beings we could reflect upon what was being said and thereby make a determination based on data which have been presented. Our understanding of the issues could mean we would expedite actions which are already in place, reject those actions or make a determination/s different from that which already exist. The significant point made here is that "we the people" exercise our right to make those determinations as citizens and people.
For the most part decision-making no longer requires our input as people for we have relegated that responsibility, right to rules and regulations. If someone on the job has taken too many sick days we do not need to ask others how a what to do in this situation we simply go to the rule book and implement those actions. If someone is driving around without their seatbelts fastened no discussion is required we simply go to the rule book and implement that action. If someone is unruly on the job no one needs to convene a council when we can just go to the rule book and implement that action. Our lives are governed not by our understanding of the issues but rather by rules and regulations designed to keep points of view obsolete.
The impact of words in America have been crucial in building this country.
* "In the past, those who foolishly sought power by riding on the back of the tiger ended up inside."
Kennedy, John F.
* "We must learn to live together as brothers or perish together as fools. "
Martin Luther King Jr.
* "Voting is the most precious right of every citizen, and we have a moral obligation to ensure the integrity of our voting process."
The question needs to be asked have we the people become obsolete? Our very lives seem to be regulated solely and completely through rules and regulations. Does documentation now governed we the people? How ironic in an effort to improve our lives we have actually fallen victim to such improvements.
