From writing class - copying a style of poem introducing a new theme and words. The meter, syllables and rythmn were already dictated by the original so some of Vapour doesn't work so well. Intrigued to see what a new audience thinks completely unaware of where this came from!

Greyed face and I stand still
Leaving this world for now
Into the mists I will travel
Trying to find my life.
Lost in colours of grey hue
Grasping thin air trying to breath
Flashes of happiness fall down
Beams of light fade into night.
Lost in the darkness I try to walk
Finding ghosts surround me
Screaming to escape my thoughts
Blood runs down from scarred eyes.

Scared at life every day
Haunted by black visions
Fight forever to stand upright.
Legs begin to cease with the cold
Icicles form around toes
Fingers no longer move.
Clouded lies with expectation
Start to fire the kiss of death
Surrounded by fiendish spectres touch
Chills strike like lightning rods
Frosted feelings glimmer pale
Body splinters in pain.

Wet and damp clammy skin
Phantoms fill head with thoughts
Clasping torment held in the past
Ripping through heart of soul
Tombstone writing comes closer.
Visions of hope are crucified
Treading on ground that I can't feel
Letting only a voice speak
'Help me, help me, for I am missing.
Someone, somewhere, help me
Through the swirling gloaming mess
There must be a way out'.

Looking down
At past events
Gravel track gone.

Whispering sound.

Constant nightmares spin
Sanctuary fades
The fog never leaves.
