Shed tears naught for me
For this love was not meant to be
Egg shells were the foundation
Desperate souls wanting salvation
-
Gained what was needed and fled
Left with naught but a warm trench in my bed
Like spring flowers, grew your fear
That love everlasting was drawing near
-
So with heaven's wings, you took flight
Hidden away in the depths of night
And though my heart and hands miss you so
I can do naught but let you go

That was a beautiful poem, it sounded very lonely. I loved the flow of it, kept my attention. My favorite lines were "Egg shells were the foundation, desperate souls wanting salvation." It was the type of line that I just had to read over and over again becuase I loved it so much.

Thank you for the kind comments. To be honest, this poem came gushing out more or less, unlike my other poems that seemed to just flow whenever a thought popped into my head. I also like those lines the most, if only because they were great at describing the relationship between the myself and the subject of the poem.
