Verse 1:

I saw a sign that read "I hate the USA"

So I sat there and stared at it all day

Then I thought "Why don't you just move away?"

"Well guess what, life's not that easy"

I had thought I found out a way

For us to leave and them to stay

But then I heard them say,

"Well guess what, life's not that easy"

Chorus:

You held my hand and told me

That forever and ever we'd be

So I believed you completely

Look where that leads

I'm running in the street

Feeling the concrete on my feet

Not caring about the heat

You're here with me, that's all I need

Verse 2:

Run for your life, they're coming for you

To see if you are true

To those you said this to,

"Well guess what, life's not that easy"

I held my breath and my face turned blue

You decided to do it too

But then yours turned a purplish hue

"Well guess what, life's not that easy"

(to chorus)

You spent every day with me

You tried to get me to see

All of life I was missing

In you I confide

You and I watched the world pass by

You were my best friend, my go-to guy

That's why I always cry

Ever since I found out you died

You held my hand and told me

That forever and ever we'd be

So I believed you completely

Look where that leads

I'm running in the street

Feeling the concrete on my feet

Not caring about the heat

You're in my heart, that's all I need
