A man at the end of his rope, who shamelessly feels he has nothing to live for anymore. This is NOT autobiographical and is a purely fictional poem displaying the intense emotions of one distressed man. It's a shame that some feel death is the only answer to the pain that they are experiencing when in actuality, life and giving back to the world is the real answer!

On the Edge

by Gerard Lebel

my love matters not…
you have chosen another
leaving me fraught…
on my own to discover.

lingering with hope…
And a soul that aches
desperate to cope…
as my poor heart breaks.

the balcony beckons…
 the railing restrains
in just a few seconds…
they’ll discover my remains.

out on the edge…
 walking the rail
no more will I hedge…
no more will I fail.

the wind at my face…
my teetering stance
I shall sail with grace…
in my definitive dance.
