The poem is about how I let myself get locked up for what someone did to me, how they hurt me, and I kept hurting myself for their mistakes. Not just one single person, it is meant for a whole bunch in different situations

My heart is famished,
it needs loving.

Been locked alone in darkness for a long time,
my emotions need fresh air.

There’s a problem,
as much as I try to unlock from inside,
the outside wind slams it back shut,
someone is locking it again.

It’s hard to love myself,
and let others love me,
after what you did to me,
all those lies you told.

I want to forget you,
as I forgave you,
leave me in peace,
and let me live my life.

What we had together, the past,
it still haunts me.

When will I be free,
who will be the healer of my heart?

I beg for someone,
to save my heart,
to rescue me from darkness,
‘cause sometimes I just feel helpless.
