I have a gray cat.
He’s gotten quite fat.
I’m his servant throughout the day.
When he has a need.
He expects instant speed
or on my face he will lay.
If I’m up and about,
He’ll give me a shout
And expect that I’m ready to play.
He wants me to follow
He thinks he’s Apollo.
I do not get much of a say.
When his bowl’s not quite full.
He gives me a pull.
He expects it be full all the way.
To the door we will trot.
Oh but it’s much too hot,
So on the threshold we’ll sway.
With his thoughts all a’swarming
My house starts a’warming
I wish this cat were a stray.
As I’m ready to swat,
With thoughts all a’knot
He runs to the couch to just lay.
What should I do with this arrogant lion?
There is no training cats, for all of my tryin’
His incessant needs have me almost cryin’
I wanted a pet not some kind of scion.
Perhaps, I will get me a dog.
