You saved us mother.
We did not drown.
We still feel the fire in our lungs.
We still sputter and cough,
But we did not drown.

You stood strong against the pounding surf
And we did not drown.
You toweled us off, dried our tears
You gave us strength and soothed our hurts
And we did not drown.

A broken keel in a raging sea
You weathered it all and kept us afloat
We still feel the fire in our lungs.
We still sputter and cough,
But we did not drown.
