Growing up too quickly

Poem by: Ghonesis

Summary

I pretty much hate puberty. But I guess it's just a rough time I'm going through and this is just the usual angst.
Whatever, that's what poetry is for, right?

Every generation has its problems.

And ours is: we grow up too fast.

We have experiences we got too early.

We never asked for this,

Surely.

...

We're going back to the Roman times.

Where boys were men at the age of fifteen,

Where girls were wed at the age of eleven.

No difference between adult and teen,

Wouldn't that be heaven?

...

I feel so old.

And I'm not even allowed to drive yet,

Is there something wrong, then?

Growing up makes upset,

I wish I was young and innocent again.
