I've handed over my soul so many times
I suppose it's always grown back all right
In the end every man gives out all he can afford
I will fall tonight into the arms of the lord

I've asked the right questions and got back the wrong answers
I've written a million verses, I've written a million stanzas
I've crossed a million roads, forgotten all that I was taught
I will fall tonight into the arms of the lord

I've sold things I just didn't believe in
I've indulged more than a multitude of sin
I've seen insects lay their eggs on the edge of a sword
I will fall tonight into the arms of the lord

I've shared in a love only the luckiest will know
I've seen fires, trains, decadence and snow
I've drank brandy with the rich and wine with the poor
I will fall tonight into the arms of the lord

I changed my mind until' I couldn't believe myself
I've felt ways I can't even believe I felt
I've believed things with all my heart then found my logic was flawed
I will fall tonight into the arms of the lord

I've bent my mind out of shape and tried to get it straight again
I've felt at one with the world, I've felt just like an alien
I've found no in between chaos and gettin' bored
I will fall tonight into the arms of the lord
