Follow it closely...

The further I tread,

The closer I am,

I'm running alone, you see;

The colder you treat me,

The stronger I grow,

Like ice upon the sea;

The less that you hurt me,

The more I feel pain,

Like added hypocrisy;

And the sharper my steps are,

The further you'll go,

I'll push you along the way;

The sharper your blade moves,

The duller your skills,

There's nothing more to say;

So remember love,

The colder you treat me,

The warmer I feel,

You're causing me to bleed;

The harder you're searching,

The less you will find,

Sacrificing your need;

The less that you call me,

The more I appear,

You're breaking my heart;

The more you notice me,

The less that you see,

As we rip far apart....

Okay, wow, why can't I be this good? I love the way you structured this, with the switching from right to left to center. The flow was great, too. Love seems to be a popular theme among poets, and the lack thereof. You took the concept of love and brought it full swing, really going into detail about every step of the journey. I'll be looking into your other stuff, I think that's certain... very good job. I can't say that enough.
