A dark poem

It’s bubbling beneath the surface

Threatening to take over me

To destroy me

I’m stung by its venom, its hostility

It courses through my blood, seethes in my veins

Through every cell, every tissue, every membrane

Scathing anger, jealousy, hatred, poison

Spreading through my lungs,

Unleashing hell in my heart and taking over my soul

I can’t do this anymore

Embrace the darkness that plagues me

The battle is lost, there’s no more fight

Let it go, give in to the night.
