A poem about hiding your evil

The scars on your face,
On your arms,
On your wrists,
On your heart,
Are designed to be hidden.

The evils of the world are glorified,
Taken, rewritten, displayed
For our entertainment.

We take it without thinking,
And stash it away,
To the farthest compartment
Of our brains, where things get distorted.
A place that is lovely for evil.
It provides shadows
Where it can't be seen.

We believe “evil” to be merely a word,
But when it becomes uninvisible
We realize movies are based on real life,
Because the evils of the world prowl,
Although we refuse to accept it.

And we force our minds
To believe it's not true.
Never true.
Bad things don't happen to good people.

The real evil likes to hide,
Concealed by the shadows
That candles can't reach.
