Protest your indifference
to race, gender, religion
in a different breath
to the one in which
you condemn
viewpoints different to your own.
Dare to defy stereotype
and blink
before judging by the cover.
Maybe the infinitesimal pause
will last long enough
for a thought to halt your hypocrisy.

The apparent simplicty of the poem has a deeper meaning than might appear at first sight, but that way it works all the better. Good work. Great theme.

Thanks. First thing published. I'm glad you like it. It came from a conversation we had one day at a rehearsal for a play.
