Miles Away from Home

This is a REALLY old poem I made (Like 3 years old). So, I thought that I'll start my account with it. ^-^

I'm a long way from home but I can smell the home cooked meal waiting for me on the dining table.

As I pass the miles of trees, I can't help but think about the mystical forests in the stories that my father used to tell me.

Though I am miles away from home, I can feel the warmth of fresh sheets on my bed.

And my mother's arms reached out to me as I walk inside into a toasty house from the bitter cold.

Though I am miles away from home, I can see my little brother sleeping in his crib.

And in the room across from my baby brother's room, I can see my grandfather sitting in his favorite recliner next to the fireplace with old records just faintly playing in the background.

Yes, I am miles away from home; but, with these thoughts in mind, I feel like I am only steps aways.

This is one of those poems that just grab you, emotionally, and conjure up personal feeling in the reader. Nicely written...
