The stricken trees,
the damp leaves,
The tiny body of a squirrel.
It sleeps silently, now and forever.
A cat moans and cries for shelter.
A car swerves and ends its troubles.
Large droplets pound down on the windows while
young children listen intently to old stories cited by their parents.

An abandoned piece of paper crumpled up on the floor.
Writings that are so smudged, its hard to make out what it says.
“Will you please to talk to me? –Kyle.”
A phone number addressed at the bottom, too hard to read.
A call never returned.
You look outside the next morning.
Its still wet outside.
Little children in trench coats, busy roads, and hidden faces of those who are under umbrellas.
All unaware of the havoc unleashed in the thunder storm.
