He wasn't the most dynamic man,
He's lived his life the best he can,
He wasn't the most successful bloke,
But always had a smile, always had a joke
Never won any prizes, never put himself up
love to share his biscuits, always made a cup,
forgot that I take it black, Mary likes it white,
winding up our mother, and she would always bite,
Never set the world alight, lived his quiet life with us,
of course we had differences and he'd always make a fuss,
loggerheads we were at times, we were clearly just same,
but he was always there for us, Brian Salter was his name.
Many people have got to know him, in the 70 years or so,
To everyone that did, he tried to let it show
that he was a good man, a kind man, ready with some smiles,
To see him again and laugh with him, I'd walk 10.000 miles
I know he wasn't always good, but he wasn't always bad,
He wasn't famous or well-known, He was just our dad.
