Sentinel

So therehe stood. Even for a 7 year oldhe knew something was wrong. All of her bags were there and she was heading for the door. Sohe rushed to the door and blanklystood there. She tried to pullhim aside butstill the boyclenched the sides of the door as hard ashe could. Then he woke up, rushed down the stairs, a bit shocked but still he seemed to know. "Mommy's just taking a drive!" she said, but everyone in that house knew it was a lie. So therethe boystoodstood, for hours and hours until she retreated to the guest room. Looking back on that day, hewishes hewould've let her leave. No one talks butthey know that the next time, it won't play out the same way.
