The Senses of Infatuation

Almost attainable but not fully grab-able

So close that the scent of you enters my sensory of smell

Yet not close enough so the smell of you cannot be fully enjoyed

Almost attainable but not fully grab-able

So close that the sight of your eyes are seen through mine

Yet not close enough so the sight of your eyes and the intention of your look cannot be fully deciphered

I can virtually hear the sound of you

From the way you say my name in such an affectionate way

That it is music to my ears

From the soft whisper of your breathing pattern when you are in deep, serene sleep

To those final, sweet and moving words you say to me before you say goodbye, knowingyou are coming back

Almost attainable but not fully grab-able

So close that your touch is close enough for my whole body to feel

I can nearly experience the touch of you

From the way your skin feels when my brown legs take on the form of a pretzel:

wrapped around your waist and back

To that final touch of my face with the palms of your hands before you say goodbye

Almost attainable but not fully grab-able

So close that the taste of you is exchanged with the taste of me

Yet we cannot get close enough to one another to trade the flavors we would savor

I can virtually consume the taste of you

From when both our lips and tongues connect

While going on an adventurous voyage of discovery

To that final long, drawn out kiss you grant me with before you say goodbye

I can practically recognize what it is like to undergo the familiarity of you

It is as if you are the rain and I am the soil waiting to be nourished

Waiting to be nourished from the droplets of life that only a steady sprinkle can bring

But in order for this to occur, you would have to not only be fully grab-able but much more than  attainable

As well as most definitely aware of the things I envision you to be with me

And even though you are not within my grasp at this moment in time

Hopefully one day I will be held in your arms and cherish you as mine
