Are Color, Are Race. By Christopher Bobby Barboza

If you could be one race or color what would it be? Would you pick the same as you are now to be called a racist? Would you pick one, that fits your life style? Would you pick one, to get more job opening? Would you pick one, to feel more at home? Would you pick one, to feel more loved? Would you pick one, on the world’s idea of beauty?

Would you really care what you are? Would you need to think, before acting because of what you are? Would you have to act one way for you to be called your own race? Would you have to like something that you don’t like to be called a brother or sister?

Are you white and act black? Are you black and act white? Are you brown and look white? Are you black and look brown?

Do you go to the beach for a Tan to be a darker color? Do you know your self as well as you feel you do? Do you know your blood line from the beginning? Do you know the history of your people?

Does it matter on, what color or race you are in today’s world? Does it matter, you can’t feel safe around others? Does it matter, that you can’t speak out on something in fear of being called a racist? Does it matter, that you can’t hate someone for who they are or you might end up in a hate crime?

At the end of the day does it all really matter? Do we all bleed blood? Do we all dream a sweet dream? Do we all not love or hate? Do we all not want to sing?

At the end, do we all not just want to be in peace?
