Candy apple of my eye
Still I sit and wonder why
You left me with this razor blade
And stuck me in the maple’s shade
Chimneys overflow and slowly flood the freezing breeze
Shiny red, you seemed so sweet, but you were just a tease
Just one little bite, I stuck to you
Like glitter sticks to Elmer’s glue
Thought I could take a little more
My jaw was tight, and my teeth sore
When the others all began to bruise
You stayed just like Dorothy’s shoes
I heard your shade isn’t even real
And that you get a glazy seal
But it’s ok; you’re not a natural best
With help, you’re tastier than the rest
So sweet, I told you day after day
Everyone kept telling me to stay away
And that you’re bad for me, my body and heart
I’m addicted now, we can never part
I’ll be your Eve, you tempt me so
It seems like you just don’t even know
Winds of lust surrounded me
But now I’m just beneath this maple tree
Breathing in the smoky air
Wondering why lust isn’t fair
You were so luscious, so juicy, ripe
Kept telling me I’m not your type
I knew you were lying, we’re meant to be!
I belonged to you, if you could only see
You had me stuck like gum in hair
Cut me free if you really don’t care!
And you did.
Candy apple of my eye
Honey-cakes, sweetie pie
Maybe you’re not all that sweet
You ruined lust, my favorite treat
That blade you hid, it cut so deep
My tongue bled for about a week
And in the maple’s cold, dark shade
I’ll let our tainted memories fade
But wait, I hear the crunching leaves
Someone’s coming, new lust please!
Yes! Here comes an alluring delight
I think I’ll try a new taste tonight
