There is a creature in this deadly area,

It’s like a wolf, but a whole lot scarier.

With heaving chest and scaly muzzle,

With that muzzle, blood, it would guzzle.

It would rip out flesh from your own neck,

And leave you there, a dismembered wreck.

It would take the carcass back to its hole,

Where it would let fester, rot and mould.

Its howl strikes fear into those most bold,

And would make all those most kind, cold.

Its evilness is so highly contagious,

It destroys the hearts of those most courageous.

The thing about evil, is that there’s always good,

To rise against it, if ever it should.

That’s why, when asked, the knight agreed,

To slay the ugly, wolfish, fiend.

The man was brave and pure of heart,

And looked at sword fighting as an art.

All had tried, and all had died,

So what was so different about this guy?

He made his way through the thick terrain,

He didn’t stop, shine or rain.

He was nearly on the brink of despair,

But then he reached the monster’s lair.

A deep rumbling droned in the air,

It was coming from the monster’s lair!

Our brave young hero picked up his sword,

And cut the monster, but blood did pour,

Not from the monster, but from the knight,

He hadn’t even put up a good fight!

But in those final moments of pain,

The sword flashed; the monster was slain.

No one knows if the knight survived,

Some say he did, but they are lies.
