i read a book.
i read a life of lives.
in souls turned viscous.
They touched me
Hands of shackles.
Where they died
empathy was dead.
They are lingering,
a Thousand Nine-Hundred
and Thirty-Three,
in One grave.
death in plural,
death in singular plural,
death death death..
chant chants,
forsaken, endless human hair
shoes, clothes, corpses, suitcases.
skeletons are firewood.
at the end
facing a single blank page,
i cried, for those unmourned...
