Six Feet Under (My October)

My October

Felt so sober,

Felt so real

And just the feel

Seems to linger

From the nights watching Jerry Springer

To the guy yesterday who gave me the finger

For this dark October, this month of grey

Keeps me scared and keeps me at bay

And I dare not try to embark on the land

Ill just stand here with my toes in the sand

Staring at the lights of the city afar

Standing alone like one shining star

For I am a dreamer...I am a poet

And Ill be dead and gone before you know it

Then October will roll around and you will sit and wonder

Whatever happened to that one sad poet?...Oh yeah...he's six feet under
