Grieving the loss of a loved one

The tears course

A slow river of pain

Into my soul

As I stare unseeing

At the wooden box

Of death

The stillness around me

Stirs the raging storm

Of the inside eye

As silence overwhelms

The hurricane of hurt

And shatters the calm brittleness

The dams break

Releasing all -

I let go.

Yes, for sure. Strange how we often tend to resist expressions of grief...given the relief we feel from them...
