Sorrow’s Tears
Early morning - hot coffee
Heart racing - breathing short
Cloudy sky - heavy brooding
Another day unfolds
Doubts confusion - thoughts awhirl
Always failing - always down
None to help me - none to care
Pressure builds and tears flow
Loneliness - a cross I bear
Penniless - a way of life
Always trod on, stamped on down
Just a looser - always will
Who am I? A speck of dust
Cast aside - I rot and die
Another day I must survive
My only goal in life
Pounding pavements endlessly
Darkness falls - I lie awake
Thoughts are racing - tears within
What awaits me? More the same
Stuck on replay, endlessly
Church bells toll - they walk on by
No one sees - no one cares
High and mighty, not like I
Life is good - life is fair
O the anguish deep inside
O to be what I am not
Walk in sunshine - feel love’s breeze
Yet on I trudge in rain and sleet
Clouds of darkness fill my heart
Pain, remorse, my daily fare
Just a loser, born to fail
And yet I see a glimmer there
A light of hope in sight
If i can only rise once more
Not drown in sorrows tears
