A Little Angel

Effortlessly twirling and swirling
She draws a simple pattern with the tips of her toes
On the ceiling, it sparkles, like magic.
From under the bed, bubbles are emerging
A shiny pink, a shimmering blue, and a glistening purple
A far-off dream catcher is chiming.
Pixies flit from reflections in the window
One after another, to dance softly on the bed
Leaving little glittering footprints, a tiny secret just for her,
A most spectacular vision
Of fireworks exploding, of colors filling the space
BOOM! BANG! BLAST!
Three noises that are better left out of her mind
Of her dream, of her fantasy world.
Her eyelids flutter, so many thoughts kept inside.
Her mother watches in desperation,
A small lustrous tear, gliding down her face
Hoping for one moment
To reverse the spell that’s been cast
Upon her little angel, who’s fading fast.
